U.S. Air Force Falconaires to Perform at Winthrop University

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The United States Air Force Falconaires will make a special appearance at Winthrop University on Oct. 20, as part of a concert co-sponsored by the university and The Herald newspaper.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Byrnes Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

The Falconaires are one of many ensembles within the U.S. Air Force Academy Band. Their official website notes that the band “plays a major role in cultivating our national heritage through America’s only indigenous musical genre, jazz.”

All members of the Falconaires are professional airmen, the majority holding the ranks of technical, staff and master sergeants. The ensemble has toured across the country, fulfilling the U.S. Air Force Academy’s and the Global Air Force Missions’ goal of providing professional musical products and services for the official military, recruiting and community relations events across the globe.

Visit the official Falconaires website and watch a past performance on Youtube.
