A $25,000 gift from alumna Marcia Peterson has been made to AIB College of Business.
Peterson, who divides her time between homes in Kingman, Ariz., and Henderson, Nev., is a native of Benton County, Iowa, and a graduate of Dysart High School. She earned an Executive Secretarial degree from AIB and worked 35 years for the Des Moines-area territory office of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. She later was executive secretary and editor at Gardeners of America in Johnston. Peterson moved to Arizona in 2004.
This is not Peterson’s first donation to AIB.
“I have been giving to the Scholarship Program in the last few years, and I was so impressed to receive thank-you notes from the students for the monies I had given,” she said.
Now she is encouraging AIB alumni and others to follow her example.
“It feels good to give back, no matter how large or small the donation,” Peterson said. “It just feels good to have an influence, in a way, on the fortunate young people who have chosen AIB.”
