Mason Named Student of the Term at AIB

Maice Mason of Hampton has been selected by the faculty at AIB College of Business as the Business Administration Student of the Term in the associate degree program.

“I really believe in the saying that if you want something done, ask a busy person,” Wright said. “The busier people are, the more they seem to get accomplished. It’s not because they’re busy, it’s because they’re organized, they’re passionate and they know that continuing to be involved in things is the way to go.”

Professor Josh Daines vouched for Mason’s work ethic, saying, “She is very, very busy. Literally, as soon as classes are over, she’s getting in her car and going right to work.”

Mason works at Bank of America while pursuing her Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration – Sales and Marketing at AIB.

Mason is active on campus in AIB’s chapter of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). The international organization uses business concepts to promote the development of community outreach programs by college students. Presentations of the results of the student programs are judged by corporate executives in regional and national contests around the world.

“Maicie Mason was one of the stars of the SIFE team this year and a key reason the AIB team won the regional competition in Minneapolis and did so well at the national competition in Kansas City,” said Professor Gregg Johnson, the AIB group’s faculty sponsor. “She is a gifted public speaker and a very hard worker.”

Mason vied for the Student of the Term honor against 43 other students who had attained a grade point average of 3.75 or higher in the previous term. Eligible students were reviewed by the business administration faculty. Mason was recognized at a reception attended by AIB faculty, staff and students.
