Church named Student of the Year at AIB

Rachel Church of Waukee was selected by the faculty at AIB College of Business as the Business Administration Bachelor’s Degree Student of the Year for 2011-2012.

“Rachel is one of the most dedicated, hardworking students I know,” said Professor Ann Wright, AIB’s Business AdministrationDepartment chair.

Church excelled academically, being named a Presidential Scholar and Business Adminstration Student of the Term at AIB. She also was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

A student-athlete, Church was named to the 2011-2012 Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC) Academic All-Conference Team for maintaining a high GPA while playing on the inaugural AIB Eagles volleyball team. The MCC belongs to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics .

“Rachel is an engaged, intelligent and motivated individual,” said Josh Daines, a member of AIB’s business administration faculty. “No matter what field or career Rachel chooses in her future, she will be a success – and not just a success, but a leader as well.”

Church, formerly of Forest City, completed her bachelor’s degree at AIB in June.  She has an associate degree from North Iowa Area Community College.

Church now works full-time for Logistics Express in Waukee as a customer serivce representative and part-time for Mid-Iowa Electric as an office manager. She previously worked for both companies part-time while studying at AIB.
